That which is "Contained" is trapped, immobilized. With meditative stillness, that which is contained becomes less and less, until it evaporates.
"The End of Food" is an installation in which the runner and the plates are made from Saltine Crackers. The earth has become a desert, dry and unable to support life. The importance of staying adaptable to sustainable practices are expressed in the piece without which we might find ourselves at the last supper.
Sometimes we get out-of-touch with the way that we feel. In the day to day, in the habit of "appropriate" behavior. Deep-seeded feelings get buried and ancient as artifacts. From the stillness of a barren blank-faced surface, if allowed, and nurtured, this feeling may unfold and flower. Bubbling to the surface like lava from the core.
An ever-changing shift of dynamics, one thing affecting another and on and on. The dynamics of the natural world reflected in the dynamics of the human experience. All of life is interconnected. Never static. Permeable. Interdependent.
